I’m pleased to announce a new blog giveaway!
The magnets pictured in this post are handcrafted by yours truly. I gave similar sets away to my piano students as Christmas gifts this year. Each set includes a pair of magnets that were created using vintage sheet music.
The magnets measure in size approximately 1/2 to 3/4-inch in diameter. They feature extra strong, Neodymium magnets (keep away from electronics, pacemakers, and children) that are able to hold 6+ pages onto your refrigerator!
I had so much fun making these magnets over Christmas break that in addition to doing a giveaway here at Color In My Piano, I decided to try selling some on Etsy. One memory from this December — my daughter, who lives in another city, came home for 10 days. She sang at our church when I led worship on the 26th — singing descants to several of the carols. Gorgeous!

These are beautiful! I love the ones I made for my studio, inspired by YOU! The kids love using them as well! My favorite memory from this past Christmas was a stocking stuffer I got from my father – He put together an “Emergency Splint Kit” with the most hilarious instructions. I laughed so hard, tears were running down my face! It was really special because the entire thing was very representative of the members of my family. Good times!
These are beautiful! I actually purchased the stuff to make the music note ones you blogged about awhile ago, and I plan to make them soon for my own students.
A cute memory I have from this Christmas was during our family Christmas Eve dinner. When I was growing up, my Mom always got sparkling water to add to our cranberry cocktail to make it special. So this year I decided that my children were probably old enough to enjoy it (they are 2 and 4). Their faces were priceless when they took their first sip! I even managed to capture it on camera when my 4 year old’s face practically turned inside out. But in the end they both drank it all. 🙂
Christmas 2010…wow. It was a GREAT one! Favorite memory is definitely the laughing fit I had with my younger siblings around the kitchen table. My brother flew home to Illinois from California. We don’t get to see him that often, so it was great to have the whole gang back together again. Adam and I are very close in age and therefore were best friends growing up. We were known for our simultaneous laughing fits. as kids It was good to experience that again as grown ups! Merry Christmas!
My favorite memory from this Christmas is the game I played with my family and Grandparents. My siblings are all getting older now and it was such fun to play “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?” with them. It generated lots of laughs! 🙂
My three sisters and I gathered around the piano and sang Christmas songs….taking requests from our ‘fans’ — family!
I could definitely use some super strong fridge magnets… and these are super cute!
One of my favorite Christmas memories this year was drawing names for “secret service” for family members. Each week we picked a new name and it was fun for me to watch my kids doing more kind things for each other than normal and trying to figure out who their secret giver was.
This Christmas I loved watching my boys who are 5 and 13 be just as excited about each others gifts as they were about their own. It was very fun to see since they have such an age gap.

Two of my girls and I have been learning the guitar for the last year. We’ve enjoyed it so much that I thought it would be fun to go caroling to our neighbors & friends, using our guitars for accompaniment! My husband & I have 4 girls and we live away from all family. So we’ve come up with our own traditions over the years. We’ve never been Christmas Caroling before. We chose 4 songs (2 fun ones & 2 spiritual ones) to rotate through. We sang only 2 of the 4 songs at each home. It was such an awesome experience! By the end of our caroling, we decided it will become the newest Christmas Tradition at our home. Family & Christ, that’s what’s important to remember in this life:)

My favorite Christmas memory this year was driving home on Thanksgiving night after a day spent with family and finally being able to pull out the Christmas music!! I am a diehard believer in not listening to Christmas music until AFTER Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful start to a wonderful season!

My favorite Christmas memory happened *after* Christmas this year, when my little sister got married on December 29th. (Yep, on a Wednesday!) She was such a stunning bride, and her husband is an amazing person. I’ll never forget this Christmas 🙂

I had a very nice Christmas this year and I am quite surprised be that fact. I took a slower pace and tried to make memories with my two small children. Singing silent night with my four year old for the first time is definitely a highlight. My 18 month old has been quite interested in the Christmas tree and all the decorations. We redecorated the tree most every day. Don’t worry. I took tons of pictures.

My favourite Christmas memory this year was (surprise!) to do with my students; they had their first ever Christmas recital this past month, and they were SO excited. They did a fantastic job, and brought everyone a lot of joy with their music.

My best Christmas memory is the birth of my daughter. She’s born on Christmas Day 5 am. She is my best Christmas present ever, won’t ever forget the moment…
At my December group lesson, students took turns playing the favorite Christmas carol while the other students sang. They all did a great job and fun too!!!
Ack! That’s what I get for getting behind on my blog reading. I almost missed this fabulous giveaway! I really, really want to have some magnets like this. 🙂 My favorite Christmas memory is undoubtedly our Christmas recital. It was a huge amount of work, but we tried several new things and it turned out so well!
