  1. I love the masks! I hate that we hide our smiles now and these are just such a great way to brighten the room! So I was very reluctant to do online teaching at first but was quite surprised when students reached out to me in March about virtual lessons. I have been teaching on line ever since. I do miss the in person and there’s definitely things that are not the same BUT it is so good to see the environments the students practice in (quite eye opening)! I also found they were much more regular in there attendance and this really forces them to “own” a lot more of the lesson!

  2. The masks look great! I have been teaching online since March. I am very eager to get back to in person lessons and am preparing for both online and in person lessons beginning in August. The online lessons worked pretty well, but I struggled to hear dynamic changes and pedaling. Teaching technique over the screen was probably my biggest challenge. But, we made it work! The kids were great and actually practiced more than in usual Springs. I think the lack of other activities, like sports, gave them more time for piano. Yay! Our Spring recital was on Flipgrid. I delivered a plate of cookies to all of my students so that they could eat the cookies and watch the recital. It was great to see their smiling faces!
I hope everyone is well! Happy teaching:)
